Position: Security Consultant
Location: New York, New York, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2005-07-15
Windows security person with fundamental grasp of Active Directory, Windows
2000, XP, 2003.
As demonstration of competence an MCSA (Microsoft Certified Systems
Administrators) or MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers) certification
is valued but not required.
The ISO will be working to ensure that the local and global security policies
and standards are and remain applied to the Windows server infrastructure and
will undertake internal penetration tests etc using tools like NESSUS, NMAP and
the Symantec Enterprise Security Management system. As such experience in the
above or comparable enterprise level security tools is a requirement.
Typical tasks will include, but are not restricted to
1. Share and directory permission reviews and "fixes" across all WINTEL servers
2. Review and analysis of group and individual permissions
3. Review, analysis and closure of open audit findings
4. Penetration testing of servers in a scheduled and controlled manner
5. Review and certification of servers before they move to the production
environment
6. Periodic re-review of production, development, test and UAT servers to
ensure they still remain secure
7. Review, chase and action for issues that are highlighted via the security
tools in place, ESM, Nessus etc
The ISO will need to be able to demonstrate the ability to work without micro
management as the role requires the ability to apply to work without close and
continual supervision. The individual needs to be aware that if an issue
becomes apparent during the course of their work that it needs to be addressed
in a timely fashion and reported to the CISO.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

2 years Financial industry background
Bachelors Degree in a technology area, preferably IT.
One of the following:
GIAC Certified Windows Security Administrator (GCWN)
CISSP
