Position: Security Engineer
Location: S. San Francisco, , United States
Type: Permanent F/T

We are the on-site recruiter for a rapidly growing healthcare company in S. San
Francisco. We are seeking a Senior Security Engineer to lead overall security
efforts.
Duties/Responsibilities
• Provide support and manage the configuration and policies of Cisco
environment, secure network architecture, VPNs, PKI and Portals.
• Provide Penetration Testing and Vulnerability Assessments of Network,
Host and Applications
• Audit Information Systems and Network Security devices against
corporate security standards
• Perform and lead technical information systems related investigations
• Educate administrators and users regarding security policies, risks and
best practices ‘
• Lead efforts on a variety of projects including IDS Implementation,
Windows OS and Application Hardening, Identity Management, Security tool
selection and implementation
• Provide ad hoc consulting on network and system security issues
• Keep current with new developments in security industry including
alerts, bugs, vulnerabilities, and viruses and evaluate and report on their
potential business impact
• Develop and manage Remote access systems security and controls
• Identify, evaluate IP Network threats, attacks and penetrations and
formulate appropriate responses
Business casual environment, on the water location & competitive pay/benefits.
Shuttle service is provided to/from BART and CalTrain.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Key Requirements:
• BS/BA Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or Equivalent
work experience. Strong Windows Systems Administration skill set
• Min 5 years experience within Microsoft centric environment preferably
in a Network Security role
• Relevant qualifications such as CCNA, Network+, CCSA/CCSE, Security+,
MCSE. IT Security, SSCP/CISSP, GIAC or formal security training are highly
beneficial.
• Experience with Microsoft Windows security issues and ability to harden
these systems
• Demonstrable working knowledge of Internet Protocols and Services
including HTTP, DNS, SMTP and experience in deploying and securing applications
offering these services.
• Experience and ability to design internet work gateway topologies
ground up using precepts of security, redundancy, high availability, maximum
control and ability to carry out performance tuning and troubleshooting
• Strong underlying knowledge of TCP/IP and Internet technologies
• Strong working knowledge of VPN and encryption technologies, IPSEC,
SSL, SSH, VPN, WAP
• Solid understanding and experience in LAN and WAN IP routing and
troubleshooting
• Solid understanding of Cisco Routers and Switches
• Strong working knowledge of Internet security and associated security
software & practices.
• Experience in Network and Host IDS, system integrity and related tools
preferred
• Working experience with network security tools and systems auditing
tools preferred
• Hard working, flexible, ability to work as part of team, solid
communication and customer facing skills.
• Ability to formulate responses and policy and communicate effectively
to a wide or varied audience and to differing levels within a company.
• Well presented and ability to work with minimal direction or
supervision.
• Willing to travel up to 25%
