Position: Security Engineer
Location: Hampshire, , United Kingdom
Type: Permanent F/T

Job Purpose
To provide development and integration of solutions for the ongoing management
of the email platform and its anti-spam and anti-virus tools in conjunction
with third party suppliers.
Job Scope
To provide design and development and bespoke application level support for the
email platform and associated systems with particular reference with spam and
virus controls.
To provide a knowledgeable and comprehensive range of development skills around
abuse prevention and email services at a major ISP. Understanding of network
packet based tools and technologies, RBL block lists, Bayesian text analysis
methodologies and reporting tools.
To have an analytical approach to problem solving and to be able to demonstrate
a track record in modular development using Unix or Linux based enterprise mail
systems ideally Openwave Intermail Mx6, or other MTA technologies such as
Sendmail or Exim.
Work with architects, developers and test managers as well as liasing with
Product management and Operations staff.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
· Minimum 3-5 Years in a 24x7 mission critical UNIX or ISP Support
environment
· Understanding of realtime blacklist technologies, such as SpamHaus,
SpamCop, SORBS
· Understanding of key email protocols such as SMTP, POP, IMAP,
HTTP/Webmail and SSL
· Configuration and administration of Mail Applications such as Openwave
Intermail Mx6 or other Unix based emailDesirable
· Scripting ability in Perl, ksh, Expect, php, cgi
· Experience working with LDAP and Oracle 9i
· Experience of Brightmail Anti-Spam Solution and Unix Server hosted
Anti-Virus (eg McAfee)
· Experience of SUN Solaris Administration and TCP/IP Networking in Sun
Solaris environment
