Position:       Sales Engineer
Location:       NYC, and Los Angeles, New York, United States
Type:           Permanent P/T

Our client, a leading vendor of configuration, deployment, auditing and network 
management software, is seeking a Pre-Sales Engineer in New York and another 
person in the Los Angeles Area. 
* This Pre-Sales Engineer will spend 95% of their time with customers and 
prospects to demo, implement and support our client products in their regions. 
We are looking for technical people who understand the world of IT Managers and 
System administrators and who can work with them to demonstrate the value and 
to expand the use of our client's software in customer accounts 
*  The role is a combination of: 
- Customer presentations (typically accompanied by a sales person) - Limited 
on-site technical consultancy aiding the evaluation and implementation of the 
software 
- Major customer technical account management The emphasis is on technical 
depth rather than 'sales presentation' - it is believed that true product depth 
and enthused customer involvement is the key to success. The role will be 
primarily based in Manhattan and and the other in Los Angeles, it is essential 
that this person lives within 1 hour of these locations respectively.
* Successful candidate will have strong background with hands-on experience in 
multiple operating environments, especially Microsoft Windows. Unix/Linux, 
Citrix, Cisco, Oracle, Domino and Novell experience is a plus. 
* Prior experience in sales engineering, IT consulting, IT management, or 
systems administration would help you to excel in this position.

Overall Responsibilities

* Develop and maintain strong and reference-able business relationships with 
key customer contacts and decision makers. 
* Build business value around our client's solutions and penetrate existing 
customer base to increase revenue opportunities. 
* Assist your inside telesales team with technical presentations, pilot 
deployments, training, and on-site support. 
* Train customers and prospects on products both pre and post sales. 
* Help our customers understand the value of our products and help them 
implement the products successfully.

Daily Responsibilities:

* Work with telesales to develop and execute major account plans for current 
and target accounts
* Travel to customer sites and conduct technical product demo's and business 
meetings
* Work in front of customer (either by phone or on site) 95% of the time, to 
help them understand and implement the product
* Interpret customer's technical needs and articulate/demonstrate how our 
client's products can benefit the customer and address their needs

and empathy with customers, while conversant at a business ROI level.
* Strong technical skills and the ability to engage customers with successful 
product demo's and implementation.
* Fluently presents solutions within the context of customer vision.

Education and Experience:

* Minimum degree of Bachelor of Science or equivalent
* Strong technical skills with Microsoft technologies
* Specialized knowledge in Security, Disaster Recovery, Network Management and 
Change Management is a significant benefit
* Microsoft certification is a significant benefit. MCSE or above preferred.
* Minimum six (6) years experience in providing network management, security 
management, and/or configuration management to large organizations
* Project management experience is preferred
* Knowledge of Windows, Citrix, SQL server; MS Exchange, Unix, Linux and Oracle 
a plus
* Experience as IT consultant, system integrator, sales engineer, IT manager 
and/or system manager

Comp. Plan 85K - 95K base  OTE --> 110K - 130K total
