Location:       Arlington, Virginia, United States

My client is responsible for providing incident response capabilities to one of 
the largest government agencies in the country. They are searching for an 
Intermediate Level Security Engineering Team Watch Office Candidate.
Position should have experience in handling and sending communications to 
management, performing root cause analysis on Incidents, and a through 
understanding of Incident Response operations and procedures. 

The candidate should possess the ability to manage multiple issues and 
prioritize/handle a high volume of work dealing with highly stressful 
situations while maintaining composure and effectively working with various 
support groups and vendors to assist in restoring service to mission critical 
systems. 



JOB REQUIREMENTS

Responsibilities: 

Hours are 12:00 am to 8:00 am Monday – Friday with alternate weekends. 

Drive Incident identification, notifications, ticket generation, recording, 
classification, investigation, and diagnosis 

Responsible for advanced troubleshooting, escalation, and driving service 
restoration activities, helping to ensure all duties from a non technical 
perspective are completed in a consistent and timely manner 

Show and promote accountability to ensure established deliverables are met. 

The Candidate is a highly motivated, trained and skilled individual that 
responds to emergencies, mitigates incidents, and detects potential threats. 

The successful applicant MUST have a combination of the following:
 
2 years college level courses. 

2 years security, law enforcement or military experience. 

Incident/problem management experience 

Proven experience with Incident, Problem, and Change Management principles 

Proven problem isolation/resolution, communication, escalation, and war room 
facilitation experience  

Proven comprehensive knowledge of desktop, networking, server, distributed 
systems, mainframe, and voice/data technologies. 

Proven knowledge of portal/legacy/Middleware application architecture, 
dependencies, in a hosted/nonhosted shared infrastructure and relationships to 
federal government environment
 
Proven advanced verbal and written communications, notifications, and 
escalations as an Incident Mgr. to higher levels of management
 
Proven emphasis on availability, stability, customer experience, and service 
restoration based upon troubleshooting, consultative, and reporting skills 

Proven ability to work effectively with client, IT management & staff in a team 
setting 

The following qualifications are also desirable: 

Degree in computer science or computer security 

Certificate in Computer Security (GSEC, CISSP)
 
Experience as a Unix and/or Windows NT System Administrator 

TCP/IP networking 

Experience with network intrusion detection systems 

Knowledge of Information Security concepts, including security  policies, 
standards, and guidelines (CISSP/SANS GIAC certifications preferred)
