Webroot Software is the leading provider of anti-spyware software and internet
security technologies for consumers and enterprises. Recently we secured $108
million investment from top venture capital firms to build upon our proven
success and leadership in the security market. We are currently seeking a Sr.
Software Developer to focus on Device Driver development. Based in Boulder,
Colorado, Webroot creates innovative privacy, protection and performance
products for millions of users around the world.
The Senior Software Developer performs product design, bug verification,
release testing, and beta support projects which may require research and
analysis. Operates under minimal supervision. Usually reports to the Software
Development Manager. Typically requires six to nine years of technical
experience in software design and product support. The ideal candidate will
participate in the implementation of solutions that employ leading-edge
technologies in a Win32 development environment. A high energy level, the
ability to set and achieve goals, and great interpersonal and communication
skills are essential.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Must be able to design; create code and test code to meet assigned
requirements.
• Must be “self-motivated” and capable of managing priorities
and tasks as delegated
• Capable of estimating development schedules and determining project
scope
• Creates code that meets design specifications, follows standards, easy
to maintain and is reasonably free from defects
• Tests and peer reviews code for technical accuracy, standards, and
functional compliance to the design
OTHER TASKS/DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
• He/she communicates with other developers, product managers and
technical support specialists on product issues.
• Works with QA team to ensure that the product is fully tested
• Works with Documentation to see that all enhancements, bug fixes, and
new products are documented
• Should be capable of identifying and proposing areas of improvement
throughout the software development process
• Provides technical assistance and technical training to other
departments as required
JOB REQUIREMENTS

1. Knowledge:
• Knowledge of Software Development principles, methods, and processes
• Security industry experience a plus
2. Skills and Abilities
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong communication skills (Both written and verbal)
• Strong working knowledge of Windows 2K/XP
• Demonstrated mentoring skills a plus
3. Education:
• Prefer Bachelor degree in technical field
o Computer Science
o Engineering
o Math
o Science
o Equivalent industry experience is acceptable
4. Experience:
• Minimum of 6+ years proven work experience in software engineering
• Minimum of 6+ years proven work experience in coding in Delphi, C/C++
or other high level programming language
• Minimum of 6+ years proven work experience in object-oriented
design/programming principles
• Minimum of 4+ years proven work experience in developing in Win32
environment
• Minimum of 4+ years proven work experience developing in COM/COM+
• Minimum of 4+ years proven work experience of communication protocols
(i.e. HTTP, Sockets, TCP/IP)
• Minimum of 2+ years proven work experience with UML
• Familiarity or experience with Agile Development practices a plus
