Position: Manager, Information Security
Location: Bridgewater, New Jersey, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2005-06-30
I am currently conducting a search for the Manager of Security Operations for a
Fortune 100 organization in Central New Jersey. This position supports a
24/7/365 security environment and does require the Information Security Manager
to be on-call. He/she will be responsible for leading and managing the
Security Operations team’s daily real-time information security operations
auditing, detection, and remediation. He/she will be responsible for the
development and implementation of security ops tactical and strategic processes
supporting incident detection, reporting and prevention. He/She will provide
leadership and direction to members of the Security Operations team. He/she
will be responsible for the development and integration of security operations
metrics reports and procedures at will coordinate security incident activities.
He/she will ensure that security events are managed in accordance with
corporate practices meeting business, legal and regulatory require
ments. He/she will conduct various technical reviews, maintain and revise
security strategies to provide metrics of compliance of corporate security
policies, malicious activity, incident and response.
This person will provide technical leadership for the design, testing,
deployment and operation of security management software and hardware devices
including, but not limited to: intrusion detection/prevention, network
scanning, systems, user and application vulnerability assessment, etc.
Participate as a member and leader of the Global security incident response
team within Global Infrastructure and apply forensic investigation techniques
to identify, curtail and document root cause and impact of information security
incidents.
Ensure security requirements are understood within organization and business
units and are embedded via the SLC. Maintain current industry trends and
initiatives. Develop business cases for information security initiatives.
Monitor and maintain projects within established budgets; participate and
advise the Security PMO. Recruit, develop and retain diverse talent
Salary: $110,000-110,000
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Must demonstrate strong leadership skills including: negotiating, influencing,
communication, and problem solving.
Must have technical experience and knowledge in the following areas: Enterprise
security operations, incident response, Windows platforms, UNIX, Linux,
Oracle, and SQL.
Experienced in vulnerability assessment tools, methodologies, generating
reports and metrics, antivirus detection and removal, host and network based
Intrusion Detection Systems, email systems and applications.
Experienced in Firewalls, Snort Intrusion detection systems, Symantec Intruder
Alert, and Symantec anti-virus systems.
Experienced in incident response procedures and forensic techniques.
Must have proven ability to lead high-performance professional teams with
direct or indirect matrix relationships.
12 years overall Information Systems experience with at least 6 years of
information security experience.
At least 5 years experience in a leadership/management role.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems and/or related
degree or equivalent work experience within the security arena is required.
Experience leading projects with solid hands-on security and networking
architecture knowledge.
Security certification is desired: (CISSP, SANS/GIAC, CISM or SSCP)
