Position: Security Engineer
Location: Houston, Texas, United States
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 2005-07-10
We are seeking a dynamic individual to develop technical solutions, policies,
and processes to secure the enterprise from security threats to the corporate
IT network and related data assets. Enforces security policies and procedures
by administering and monitoring security logs, as well as implementing security
technologies to address current-day threats. Reviews security violation reports
and investigates possible security exceptions. Must be able to demonstrate
senior level expertise and/or industry recognized certifications in one or more
of the following areas:
Firewalls; Host/Network based Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems;
Linux/Windows/Solaris/AIX/iSeries operating system security best practice and
hardening techniques; Anti-Virus; Email and Web Content Filtering; Data
Infrastructure Application hardening techniques (i.e. SQL, Exchange, DNS,
Active Directory, etc.); Network Infrastructure security best practice and
hardening techniques (i.e. knowledge of routers and switches); Sniffers, TCP/IP
and related protocol analysis. Must be superior communicator and organizer,
able to lead IT projects and coordinate among many separate departments. Must
be able to demonstrate senior level expertise and/or industry recognized
certifications in one or more of the following areas: Firewalls; Host/Network

Qualifications:
Essential PC skills: MS Office suite, IDS, Firewalls, VPN and other security
software. College degree preferred. 5-10 years minimum related experience
required. Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m.
