Our client, a Palo Alto-based start-up in the area of network intrusion
detection is looking for a Quality Engineer. This is an opportunity to work a
Tier 1 venture-backed company creating a revolutionary approach to IDS. This
role offer significant growth and the opportunity to build a product from the
groundfloor.
Targeted Compensation: 100K+ and significant equity
Job Description:
You will be a member of the team acting as a lead for the Quality Engineering
effort. You will spend much of your time writing sophisticated worms and
exploits to test our clients product's reaction to such attacks.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Skills:
Requires experience working in a QA/QE group for a networking company.
Experience should include designing and executing test plans for IDS/IPS
devices.
Should be experienced in writing Test Plans from a PRD level description of the
product. Candidate should also have created automated system level test suites
in past jobs, preferably in the IDS/IPS product area. Should be experienced in
creating network level stimuli (e.g. packet traces) for System-Under-Test and
automatically validating system state for correct operation.
Knowledge of good software engineering principles with an emphasis on testing
in the context of networking products. Must be familiar with programming in a
C/C++ and shell (e.g. perl) level test automation in a product environment. Job
will involve Test automation system design and development activities.
Managing and tracking project activities using MS Project will be considered a
plus, although this is not required.
BS in EE/CS with 5 years work experience or MS in EE/CS with 3 years work
experience.
