Position: Sr. Product Manager
Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 06/26/2005
Our client is a very unique corporation, they use the latest state of the art
technologies, and develop applications for both the civilian sector and
government/military. They develop a broad range of technologies, including
information visualization interfaces, distributed object-based systems that
span devices, operating systems, networks, and relational database systems.
Their information designers integrate a number of disciplines: visual design,
human-computer interaction design, information architecture, user ethnography,
and product management.
It is the responsibility of the PM to set and maintain proper expectations and
communications throughout the life of a project, internally and externally. The
PM will follow clients implementation methodologies and develop and execute a
project plan that proactively anticipates and mitigates areas of risk. Job
duties include (but are not limited to):
Establish, maintain, and manage relationship with customer management
Execute project methodology to ensure project success
Establish, maintain, and monitor project schedule and budget. Proactively
identify, highlight and communicate potential impacts to schedule and budget
Lead effort of project team and customer to baseline and capture all business
and technical requirements of the project
Identify and mitigate project risk factors, both internally and externally
Report project progress with regular internal and external status updates
Manage and mentor project team members
Assist customer in determining project success criteria and mange project to
meet stated objectives
Manage scope of project to ensure project requirements are achieved identify
and mange scope creep
Display good understanding of currently technologies
Interact directly with customer personnel in a professional manner
Assist with internal Sales and Product Management efforts
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Requirements:
BS in Business Administration or Information Systems
3-5 years PM and software implementation experience
Working knowledge of PM processes and methodologies
Experience with software development management
Leadership ability and experience
Excellent communication skills.
Security clearance is a big plus.
