Position: Developer
Location: Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, US
Type: Permanent F/T

Our client is a very unique corporation, they use the latest state of the art
technologies, and develop applications for both the civilian sector and the
government/military. They develop a broad range of technologies, including
information visualization interfaces, distributed object-based systems that
span devices, operating systems, networks, and relational database systems.
Their information designers integrate a number of disciplines: visual design,
human-computer interaction design, information architecture, user ethnography,
and product management.
Senior Developers
We are looking for software experts with at least seven years of experience who
can lead projects with interdisciplinary design teams, and who can guide an
entire software-engineering process.
The position will involve developing visual information systems for
collaborative decision making in diverse domains (medical patient records, air
transportation, large-scale logistics, military command and control, finance,
etc.).
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
The following are some of the qualifications we like to see:
-- B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field
-- 5+ years development experience with Java (preferred) or C++
-- Expertise with object-oriented programming
-- Appreciation for user-centric design
-- Experience building large-scale mission-critical applications
-- Experience building multi-threaded systems
-- Experience with distributed systems
Other beneficial experience:
-- Experience delivering commercial products
-- Information visualization
-- Direct-manipulation user interfaces
-- Relational databases
-- Data modeling
-- 3D graphics
-- Creative use of UI and visualization tools
-- Technical leadership experience
