Actual Job Title: Sr. Product Mgr, Security

Job Summary:
Websense has a need for an experienced Senior Product Manager to own and
develop its expanding Security product roadmap. The successful candidate will
cultivate an ongoing, comprehensive security strategy across all Websense
products and drive the execution of the strategy through the product
management, strategic alliances, and engineering teams as well as the Websense
Security Labs organization.
Responsibilities will include:
-Contribute to and advance the core security strategy, both short-term and
long-term, across all Websense products
-Defining and validating security-related product extensions through market
research and customer interaction
-Creating the business case to justify resource allocation and necessary
corporate investment to support the security strategy
-Collaborating with entire product management team as well as other departments
and resources to ensure the successful and timely definition, development,
release, and ongoing enhancement of security features and products
-Evangelizing the company’s security strategy and related products and
features both internally and externally
-Ensuring that security-related product developments meet their business
objectives (revenue and margin targets, market share, etc.)
-Partnering with Product Marketing to develop and communicate appropriate
security-related product messaging and positioning
-Supporting sales teams on security-related activities and customer meetings as
needed
JOB REQUIREMENTS

-Technical degree required, MBA preferred
-7+ years enterprise software product management experience
-5+ years product management experience with Internet-related security products
and protocols (firewalls, authentication/encryption, etc.)
-Superior strategic thinking and analytical skills
-Strong business acumen and decision-making ability
-Exceptional leadership skills
-Proven ability to define product requirements and bring products successfully
to market
-Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills
-Demonstrated ability to influence across organizational boundaries and execute
through teams
