Position: Application Security Engineer
Location: Seattle, Washington, US
Type: Permanent F/T

Embedded Linux Security Developer
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include triaging, debugging, and fixing bugs and security
vulnerabilities on firewall appliance software reported from the installed
customer base or trials. Write and debug code at all levels on a Linux-based
platform, from the kernel up. Provide support on escalated customer issues,
reproduce and troubleshoot complex technical problems, and work with Technical
Support to resolve customer issues in a timely manner.

networking technology, committed to technical excellence, continuous
improvement, and the delivery of business value.
Education, Knowledge, Skills, Certifications/ Licenses, Competencies:
- BS in EE or CS or equivalent experience required. MS preferred.
- Expert level in C, C++, Perl, and shell scripting.
- Expert level with the LinuxOS/platforms. Other OS/platforms a plus (Solaris,
Windows, VxWorks).
- Expert level in network engineering, and networking protocols (TCP, UDP,
SMTP, HTTP, FTP, DNS, …)
- Strong track record of working with OEMs/vendors integrating solutions
- Strong track record of delivering quality software products.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
Minimum Experience Level
- 3+ years experience with embedded systems (Linux/Unix).
- 5+ years experience in network application development (client/server,
peer-to-peer, sockets, RPC) using multiple operating systems (Linux/Unix,
Win32, Solaris, VxWorks)
- 3+ years experience with firewall, security, and networking equipment
including ISO/OSI Layers 2 through 7, NAT, lower levels of the TCP/IP protocol
stack, and/or VPN tunneling protocols (GRE, PPTP/L2TP, IPSec, IKE) is required.
- 3+ years experience with internet networking protocols and applications
(TCP/IP, DNS, FTP, HTTP, and/or SMTP) is required.
- 3+ years experience with OS kernel internals.
- 2+ years experience with VPN protocols (PPP, GRE, PPTP, IPSec, and/or IKE).
- 3+ years supporting commercial software.
