Sr. Device Driver Engineer

The Cyber Security Group seeks to hire dynamic individuals with strong 
credentials and experience in cyber security research.  This position will be 
responsible for the design and implementation of applications from formal 
requirements and architectural specifications to delivery of commercial grade 
applications. The process includes developing proof-of-concept prototypes 
through production quality code. 

Cyber Security is one of the most challenging and exciting work environments in 
the Laboratory. The incumbent will have a unique opportunity to be part of a 
growing team focused on challenges that range from basic science to technology 
insertion.  

The environment is highly challenging and complex. Expertise is required to 
develop technical solutions for client needs including: information operations 
and analysis related to national security topics intrusion analysis, systems & 
vulnerabilities, network security, advanced analytic tools, and data 
visualization techniques.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Level 4:  A Bachelor's degree with at least 7 years experience or a Master's 
degree with 5 years experience or a Ph.D. with 3 years is required.  Must be a 
technical expert who selects and widely applies principles, theories and 
concepts in a major field of specialization.

Level 5:  A Bachelor's degree with 9 years experience or a Master's degree with 
7 years experience or a Ph.D. with 5 years experience is required.  Must have a 
national or international authority.  Applying intensive and diversified 
knowledge of scientific or engineering principles in broad areas of assignments 
and related fields.  An extensive publication list is required.

An MS degree is preferred in computer science, computer engineering or 
electrical engineering disciplines. Other engineering or math degrees will be 
considered for exceptional candidates. Preference will be given to candidates 
with cyber security experience and/or certification in one or more of the 
following:

1.) Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) 
2.) SANS Global Incident Analysis Center (GIAC) certification
3.) Certified Information Systems Auditor
4.) Other Certifications such as  CNSS Information Security Professional CNSS, 
Information Systems Security Officer, CNSS: Designated Approving Authority, 
CNSS, Systems Certifier, and CNSS: Administration in Information Systems 
Security may be considered. 

Must be able to learn quickly and demonstrate how his/her contributions will 
make our organization better. Past successful candidates have had strong 
personal (hobby) interest in computers and programming as well as academic 
training.
CANDIDATE MUST HAVE THE ABILITY TO OBTAIN A FUTURE "Q" CLEARANCE OR 
REINSTABLE RIGHTS TO A "Q" CLEARANCE.
