Description: The Cyber Security Group seeks to hire dynamic individuals with strong credentials and experience in cyber security research. Cyber Security is one of the most challenging and exciting work environments in the Lab. The incumbent will have the opportunity to influence strategy research agenda. Qualifications: The successful candidate will have an established national (for a level 5) or international (for a level 6) reputation for researching and developing new methods for enhancing performance and resolving inefficiencies in network protocols, intrusion detection systems, network interface cards, network measurement and analysis tools, firewalls, and related middleware to facilitate ultra high-speed network capabilities. Must have in-depth knowledge of LAN/WAN hardware and network layer protocols, VPN's, Security, QoS, Remote/Local Access, Multi-Service (Voice and Video), Campus/MAN, WAN, Optical Networking, Transmission Systems, Wireless and evolving protocols such as IPv6. Knowledge of general computer system and network architectures, hardware, and operating system theory network principles and troubleshooting techniques fiber optics systems related to data transmission and applications data communications, computer network, and distributed systems theory Windows, Macintosh, UNIX and Linux operating systems TCP/IP internals (as applied to network backbone and infrastructure resources and related systems) software development using and "C" languages is desired.
