Cyber Security is one of the most challenging and exciting work environments in the Laboratory. The incumbent will have a unique opportunity to be part of growing team focused on challenges that range from basic science to technology insertion. The environment is highly challenging and complex. Expertise is required to develop technical solutions for client needs including: information operations and analysis related to national security topics intrusion analysis, systems & vulnerabilities, network security, advanced analytic tools, data visualization techniques. This position is based in the greater Richland, WA area and will likely be in government client spaces. Exact work location will be determined by project need. As a result, exact clearance and access requirements are determined by the client. Qualifications: Individuals selected will be self starters who are also comfortable working in a team environment. Must also be capable of working independently to accomplish time critical tasks. Demonstrated technical competence in computer security, computer networking with TCP/IP, and network operating systems including Unix, Linux, and/or Windows is required. Professional experience in computer network defense or information assurance is desired, including in-depth technical knowledge/mastery with intrusion detection systems and packet generator/sniffer, network policy architectures. Prior experience with the intelligence community is also desired, though not necessary. The incumbent shall have excellent written, spoken, and presentation skills. The incumbent shall demonstrate very mature project and fiscal management skills and methods. Past successful candidates had strong personal (hobby) interest in computers and programming as well as academic training. Note: Placement level will be dependent upon management's assessment of the selected candidate's skills, experience, and ability to contribute.
