Cyber Security Group

The Cyber Security Group Seeks to hire dynamic individuals with strong 
credentials and experience in cyber security research. Cyber Security is one of 
the most challenging and exciting work environments in the Laboratory. The 
incumbent will have a unique opportunity to be part of growing team focused on 
challenges that range from basic science to technology insertion.  

The environment is highly challenging and complex. Expertise is required to 
develop technical solutions for client needs including: information operations 
and analysis related to national security topics intrusion analysis, systems & 
vulnerabilities, network security, advanced analytic tools, data visualization 
techniques.

Individuals selected will be self starters who are also comfortable working in 
a team environment. Must also be capable of working independently to accomplish 
time critical tasks. Demonstrated technical competence in computer security, 
computer networking with TCP/IP, and network operating systems including Unix, 
Linux, and/or Windows is required. 

Professional experience in computer network defense or information assurance is 
desired, including in-depth technical knowledge/mastery with intrusion 
detection systems and packet generator/sniffer, network policy architectures. 
Prior experience with the intelligence community is also desired, though not 
necessary.  Ideal candidates will have network encyption technology experience 
and experience supporting COMSEC equipment.  

The ideal candidate will have excellent written, spoken, and presentation 
skills. The incumbent shall demonstrate very mature project and fiscal 
management skills and methods. Past successful candidates had strong personal 
(hobby) interest in computers and programming as well as academic training.

Multiple positions will be filled. Locations include Richland WA and Washington 
D.C.  Positions require an initial training period in Richland WA.  Preference 
will be given to applicants willing to move to the Washington D.C. area in 
twelve to eighteen months.




JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Requirements: **
Certification in one or more of the following:

1.) Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) 
2.) SANS Global Incident Analysis Center (GIAC) certification
3.) Certified Information Systems Auditor
4.) Other Certifications listed below may be considered:
CNSS Information Security Professional
CNSS, Information Systems Security Officer
CNSS: Designated Approving Authority
CNSS, Systems Certifier
CNSS: Administration in Information Systems Security .
5) Microsoft networks
6) Dell hardware
7)Inline Network Encryption Technology (INE) .

Applicant must be certified or near completion for certification with KIV 7 and 
Taclane KG-175 equipment.  

Must have experience with design and deployment of classified computers 
according to DOE, DOD, DISA and NSA SIPRNET standards for specialized programs.

Level 1 requires a BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or Computer 
Engineering or other technical degree with a strong Computer Science 
background. 

Level 2 requires a MS with 0-2 years of experience or a BS with 2-3 years of 
directly related experience. 

Level 3 requires a MS with 3-5 years of experience or a BS with 5-7 years of 
directly related experience.

All applicants must currently have, or possess the ability, to obtain a federal 
security clearance.  One of the requirements of a federal security clearance is 
U.S. citizenship.  Preference will be given to candidates who already possess a 
clearance.
