Position: Security Engineer
Location: San Jose, California, US
Type: Contract
Closing Date: 06/08/2005
The Network Security Administrator deploys and maintains network security
infrastructure to prevent unauthorized access to company information or misuse
of network assets, researches attempted efforts to compromise security
controls, handles firewall service requests and performs network
troubleshooting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities and Control Responsibilities:
Support day to day operations of Net Screen firewalls and IDS/IDP
infrastructure.
Design, test and implement infrastructure solutions for secure connectivity for
Adobe employees and partners. Work with vendors and teams across the IS
organization.
- Design, test and implement infrastructure solutions for network security
zoning to protect sensitive corporate assets. - Participate in projects to
evaluate, test and deploy new security technology. - Monitor security service
request queues, work with requestors to verify requests and determine correct
actions required to satisfy the requests. Dispatch service requests to other IS
operations staff as needed. - Participate in on-call duty to resolve or
escalate production security infrastructure issues. - Implement all changes to
security infrastructure in accordance with standard procedures and change
control policies and procedures.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

- BS Degree and 8+ years of experience in network, system and security
administration
- Strong working knowledge of network administration and network management
protocols and networking architecture and design concepts. Cisco certification
a plus. - Strong knowledge of network security protocols, concepts and
practices. CISSP or GIAC certification a plus. - Strong working knowledge of
both public domain and industry leading commercial network security products,
Netscreen (Juniper) experience a plus. - Strong working knowledge of UNIX and
Microsoft security administration. Unix or Microsoft certifications a plus. -
Strong working knowledge of strong authentication concepts and practices,
including PKI.
