Position: Security Consultant
Location: Washington, District of Columbia, US
Type: Permanent F/T

Senior Security Consultant - Public Sector
Job Description - External:
A Senior Consultant in VeriSign's public sector possesses Mid-Level knowledge
and experience in information security or relevant information technology. Job
is focused on provding security assessments, C&A, disaster recovery and
business continuity services to both federal and state civilian agencies as
well as DoD clients.
Functional Responsibilities and Skills
- Ability to perform project tasks with little or no supervision.
- Contribute a significant piece of a project deliverable
- Able to create and recommend remediation for components of security policies.
Provide specific recommendations for a clients business or technical issues.
(Example: Lack of or enforcement of a password policy.)
- Excellent written and verbal communications.
Technical Responsibilities and Skills
- Deeper technical problem / resolution skills
- Mid-level infrastructure or security design capabilities for environments
that include 10 to 20 security devices, processes or applications.
- Mid-level systems administration (UNIX, Windows, or mainframe
- Knowledge of web application architectures and products
- Mid-level network administration (thorough protocol experience)
- Mid-level security knowledge of:
o PKI systems
o Wireless protection strategies (WAP, EAP, TLS, WTLS, 802.1X, etc)
o Internet attack anatomy
o Perimeter protection strategies
o Security Policy structure
- Mid-level methods knowledge of at least two of the following:
o Penetration testing
o Application development
o C&A methodology
o Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Experience - External:
Educational Requirements.
- Minimum of four (4) years government security experience
- Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience
- Prior experence delivering security consulting services to government
agencies
- At least two technical certification such as CISSP, CCNA, CCDA, CCSA, GIAC.
