Position: Security Engineer
Location: Portland, Oregon, US
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 05/06/2005
To design and develop Security tools for ITG Infrastructure Includes product
research and evaluation for implementation and defining ITG tools already owned
that can be utilized to improve the security posture of OHSU Establishing
contact with OHSU information technology vendors to establish core security
requirements implemented by vendor and recommend steps to advance security of
vendor products Conduct vulnerability testing on ITG managed systems Research
and write security “effective practices” Establish working
relationships with ITG Business Units to build awareness of information
security.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field and seven (7) years
of hands-on networking experience in a large, complex environment (multiple
platforms, multiple protocols and/or 1500+ nodes) OR an Associate’s
degree in computer science or related field and eight (8) years of hands-on
networking experience in a large, complex environment (multiple platforms,
multiple protocols and/or 1500+ nodes) OR nine (9) years of hands-on
networking experience in a large, complex environment (multiple platforms,
multiple protocols and/or 1500+ nodes) OR an equivalent combination of
education and experience where: One (1) year of experience will be substituted
for an Associate’s degree or two (2) years of experience will be
substituted for a Bachelor’s degree. Prefer experience with (2000+ node)
three (3) years hands on experience with Cisco routers and switches Knowledge
of IT security policy and HIPAA Security Rule Cisco certification and CISSP
certific
ation. Required knowledge and skills include: Network and routing protocols,
Network Topologies, Data Communication equipment, Network Management tools,
Premise Distribution Systems and Firewall technologies.
