Job Summary:
Experienced in the planning, tracking, reporting, and control of software
development projects. Manages the project team and all aspects of project
planning, execution, and deployment. Serves as the primary liaison between
Product Management and Engineering.
Essential Functions:
- Manage project scope, time, cost, risk, resources, communication, quality,
and release
- Maintain an active presence and perform the key coordination tasks throughout
the project lifecycle
- Organize the project team to ensure that roles and responsibilities are
clearly defined and understood
- Communicate the project expectations, project goals and project scope to the
team
- Manage client expectations, project goals and project scope
- Develop the project plan including estimates and schedules, release criteria
and plan
- Measure, ensure accuracy of, and report progress against the project plan
- Organize all review meetings and serve as the key focal point for all project
issues
- Maintain visibility of and communicate project dates, functional
requirements, and deliverables
- Coordinate with information systems infrastructure support teams to ensure
that the internal standards of application development, network communication,
software configuration management, software migration, and software
distribution are met

JOB REQUIREMENTS

“MUST Have” Qualifications:
- Minimum five years of experience managing full life cycle software
development efforts.
- Experience with Client / Server, Networking, and Device Driver applications
- Proven ability to manage concurrent software development efforts using formal
software engineering and project management practices
- Ability to effectively manage time and cost for software development efforts
through activity duration, sequencing, estimating, schedule development and
control, resource planning and cost estimating and budgeting and control using
formal software engineering and project management practices
- Ability to effectively manage communications during a complex project
environment through communication planning, information distribution and
performance reporting using formal project management practices
- Ability to effectively manage project risk for software development efforts
through risk identification, quantification and control using formal project
management practices
- Ability to manage client expectations by fully defining requirements,
obtaining necessary approvals and continuous communication
- Bachelors degree in Management, Computer Science, or related field
“Desired” Qualifications:
- Experience with Microsoft Project and Excel
- Familiarity with complex technical software development environments and/or
networks.
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and networking protocols
- Knowledge of Firewalls, Proxy, and Cache appliances
- QA or Development Management background is a plus
