Position: Manager, Information Security
Location: New York City, New York, US
Type: Permanent F/T

Our client, a leading Financial Services firm, is seeking a Data Center
Operations Manager.
Primary responsibilities are managing activities and staff supporting multiple
data centers and
computer room facilities supporting on-line, batch and disaster recovery
operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage staff scheduling and operational responsibilities providing around the
clock support at
primary location.
Oversee daily production responsibilities across multiple shifts, to provide
Monitoring of production scheduled tasks and interfacing with multiple support
organization for
problem resolution and escalation.
Diverse background including experience with VMS, AS/400, NT and Unix
environments.
Monitoring enterprise data back-up process and reporting.
Candidate must have proven Project Management experience with the abiilty to
rapidly absorb
technical and conceptual information, identify key issues and details and
present alternatives.
Manage centralized application and system monitoring and support escalation
Monitoring data transmissions
Oversee daily operation of data center facilities to include:
Management of data center inventories related to systems, space and requests
for moves, adds
and changes of hardware.
Manage facility requirements for power, space, and systems connectivity
Participate in data center related project management activities to support all
lines of business
Responsible for providing project management feedback with regard to data
center requirements
for IT application development projects.
Disaster Recovery Planning, implementation, testing and readiness for data
center systems.
Manage two facilities, mid-town NY (production) and North-east NJ (disaster
recovery site).
Primary location in NY with occasional visits to NJ.
Supervise work of Operations Shift Managers, and three shifts of
Console Operators
Strong knowledge of the majority of the following technologies preferred:
Applications, Servers, Mainframes, data Center operations and infrastructure.
Various Operating
Systems (Windows, VMS, UNIX, AIX), Network Management, Veritas NetBackup (or
similar
product), scheduling products.
