Position: Security Product Manager
Location: New York City, New York, US
Type: Permanent F/T

Our client, a Major Financial Services firm in Midtown Manhattan, is seeking a
Manager of IT Security.
The Manager of IT will be responsible for all aspects of network, application,
web and database security in our client's IT Infrastructure and systems.
Management Duties will include:
Development of an enterprise information security strategy and best practices
in support of the enterprise's information security architecture.
Collaborate with key business and IT leaders to develop data security
protections standards.
Direct all systems security audits and tasks to ensure that the integrity,
confidentiality and availability of data to end users is not compromised.
Ensure that all systems implemented comply with existing technology policies
and industry best practices to ensure the technology environment is secure and
protected.
Responsible for ensuring that tools or technologies are implemented to reduce
the risk of “denial of service” attacks against systems.
Corporate advocate for information security best practices.
Address senior IT and business leaders regarding their information security
risks and responsibilities in minimizing those risks.
Maintain reliable, up-to-date information from the government and regulatory
agencies in the financial services industry regarding identification of new
threats and vulnerabilities.
Education - Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information
Systems or other related field or equivalent work experience.
Recruitment, retention, management, motivation and training of IT Security
Engineers and Systems Administrators.
Create and enforce reporting structure throughout group, to support regular
vulnerability assessments reports to CIO and firm's business management.
Monitoring and assessment of security on the firm's network perimeter and
internal architecture.
Deisgn, Architecture, Engineer, Technology and Vendor evaluation and selection,
and deployment of security solutions for the various technical platforms.
Lead the requirements defintion, issuance of RFPs/ RFIs/RFQs design, develop,
document and implement security strategies for the firm.
Supervise the Audit, Change Management, and Compliance/regulatory aspects of
the group's overall responsibilities.
Definition, Communication and enforcement of IT Security policies within the
firm.
Responsibilities:
* Support of existing security tools and monitoring of IDS and Firewalls.
* Perform Application Security Assessment to reviews of new applications.
* Assist with administrative duties such as user requests for application
access, password changes, change control process and procedure, etc.
* Meet with firm's employees to uncover their current and future security
needs.
* Meet with vendors to evaluate their tools to satisfy the firm's current and
future needs.
* Assist in the security design of new applications and IT architecture
changes.
* Closely work with project managers to ensure timely delivery.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Required Skills:
Candidate should have 8-10 years of professional experience as a manager in IT
Security, Network Management or other Infrastructure Management role. Must
possess thorough network and security knowledge to be able to enhance, and
engineer our firms' current architectures.
Candidates must have strong sense of accountability and mission.
Comprehensive knowledge of network security/firewall technologies, and host and
network based intrusion detection as well as deployments and establishing best
practices is required. Hands-on experience is a must.
Windows 98/NT/2K,
Patch analysis and tools,
Security Event correlation and investigation,
Security Policy Creation,
Ethical Hacking,
Quality Assurance / Change Control,
Routers/Switches/Hubs/Bridges,
Excellent organization and communications skills
Experience with LAN/WAN Networking,
Experience with Cisco routers and switches and various VPN products,
Experience with Routing Protocols,
Security / Network / Certifications a plus: CISSP, SANS, GEAC, CCSP, CCIE,
CCDA, CCNA
Strong Analytical Thinking and Excellent Troubleshooting
Knowledge of Security Best Practices,
Ability to manage multiple projects
College degree preferred.
Experience - 10 to 15 years of IS/IT and business/industry work experience with
at least 3 years of experience in a security management role.
