Manager, Enterprise Directory Services - JVN #1446
Salary Range: $45,632 - $108,044 + Excellent Comprehensive Benefits Package
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsibilities will include:
- LDAP directory architecture design and implementation
- Lead a staff of directory services designers and engineers
- Design and implement directory services and multi-vendor directory connectors
such as DirXML
- Security architecture design
- Technical duties as necessary to upgrade and enhance enterprise directory
services
- Design and implement systems utilized for authentication, authorization, and
identity and access management
- Project management and managing the internal change process for the
Enterprise Directory Services team.
* Due to the necessary technical support duties of this position, candidates
may be required to work various shifts such as weekends and/or evening shifts. *
JOB REQUIREMENTS

PREFERRED SKILLS:
- Ability to manage projects using MS Project
- Experience managing staff
- Hands-on experience with:
- Novell eDirectory or other enterprise directory solutions
- Identity and access policy management solutions such as Tivoli, Novell or CA
identity and access management products
- Supporting application developers with a directory services infrastructure
that can be leveraged for user authentication and authorization.
- Expertise in mitigating the security risks of a federated directory services
model is desirable.
- An understanding of interoperability across vendor and product lines is also
crucial.
- The person selected for this position will be an integral part of our
Computer Emergency Response Team and play a key role in responding to cyber
attacks on the infrastructure of the City of New York.
CIVIL SERVICE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
1. A Master's Degree in computer science from an accredited college and three
years of progressively more responsible, full-time, satisfactory experience
using mainframe, mini- or micro-computer technology in computer applications
programming, systems programming, computer systems development, data
telecommunications, data base administration, or planning of data processing,
at least 18 months of this experience must have been in an administrative,
managerial or executive capacity in the areas of computer applications
programming, systems programming, computer systems development, data
telecommunications, data base administration, or planning of data processing or
in the supervision of staff performing these duties, -OR-
2. A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college and four years of experience
as described above -OR-
3. A four-year high school diploma or its educational equivalent and six years
of experience as described above, -OR-
Education and experience equivalent to the above. However, all candidates must
have at least a high school diploma or its equivalent and must possess at least
three years experience as described above, including the 18 months of
administrative, managerial, executive or supervisory experience as described
above.
NOTE: The following types of experience are NOT acceptable superficial use of
preprogrammed software without complex programming, design, implementation or
management of the product use of word processing packages use of a hand held
calculator primarily the entering or updating of data in a system the
operation of data processing hardware or consoles.
