Zone Labs is currently recruiting for a Systems Engineer.  The Enterprise 
Systems Engineer is responsible for securing the technical component of a sale 
to an enterprise customer as well as ensuring ongoing customer satisfaction 
after the sale.  To that end, the Enterprise SE is responsible for articulating 
the technical benefits of the Zone Labs product line to Enterprise prospects, 
customers and partners by delivering presentations, RFP responses, product 
demonstrations, technical fit assessments, and ensuring successful product 
evaluations.  After the sale, the Enterprise SE is expected to lead the 
customer through the implementation process, utilizing supporting entities as 
necessary (e.g. Professional Services, Enterprise Support, reseller partners) 
to ensure success and ultimately enterprise-wide deployment of Zone technology.

The Enterprise SE is a senior member of the Zone Labs sales team and 
participates in the sales cycle by working with the Sales Manager to 
effectively remove obstacles, change the sales landscape as necessary, 
effectively handle objections, and otherwise add value above and beyond simply 
demonstrating a product’s capabilities.  Along with significant (10+ 
years) experience in a systems engineering role, a thorough knowledge of the 
Enterprise sales cycle and its corresponding technical requirements are 
required to be effective in this position.  

At least five years’ experience selling and supporting software, network 
and/or hardware security solutions (firewall, VPN, IDS/IPS, Antivirus) to 
Enterprise customers is a prerequisite.  Up to 70% regional travel may be 
required, including quarterly visits to Zone Labs’ headquarters in San 
Francisco.  Superior communication and relationship-development skills are a 
must.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide pre and post technical support to inside and outside sales teams as 
required, supporting a specific geographical region.  Specific duties include:

• Manage the end-to-end technical component of the sales cycle, including 
product presentations, demonstrations, product evaluations, pilot deployments, 
and production implementations.  

• Act as a technical account manager for large enterprise customers as 
appropriate, including acting as a Single Point of Contact for product issues, 
both pre- and post-sales.

• Involve Product Management, Enterprise Support and Research and 
Development teams as appropriate to ensure successful adoption of Zone Labs 
technology.

• Working with the Channel Sales Manager, identify, train and mentor 
reseller and systems integrator partners.

• Attend trade shows, conferences and marketing events as needed.

• Build and maintain client relationships.

• Up to 70% travel is required.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

• BA/BS in a technical discipline  Masters’ preferred.  MBA a strong 
plus.

• 10-15 years of Technical Sales/ Sales Engineering, with a proven ability 
to provide technical leadership.  5 years minimum selling and/or deploying 
security technology to the Enterprise.

• Previous management experience a strong plus.
