Position: Sr. Product Manager
Location: San Diego, California, US
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 04/21/2005
Summary:
Our client has a need for an experienced Sr. Product Manager to own and develop
its expanding Security product line. The successful candidate will take on the
role of advocate, product champion and P&L manager for the assigned product
line and will be responsible for:
Planning and management of products during their entire life cycle, from
initial inception to exit from the market
Definition and validation of product extensions through market research and
customer interaction
Management of cross-functional teams and resources necessary to ensure the
successful and timely definition, development, release, and ongoing enhancement
of assigned products
Evangelizing the product both internally and externally
Ensuring that assigned products meet their business objectives (revenue and
margin targets, market share, etc.)
Partnering with Product Marketing to develop and communicate appropriate
product messaging and positioning
Supporting sales teams on product-related activities and customer meetings as
needed
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications
6+ years of enterprise software product management experience
4+ years product management experience with Internet-related security products
(firewalls, authentication/encryption, etc.)
Superior analytical skills
Exceptional leadership skills
Proven success in defining product requirements and bringing products
successfully to market
Strong business acumen and decision-making ability
Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills
Demonstrated ability to influence across an organizations boundaries
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related Technical major
required, MBA preferred
