Position: Sr. Security Engineer
Location: Livingston, New Jersey, US
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 04/21/2005
Responsibilities:
Under the direction of Network Security Manager and the Chief Information
Security Operations Officer, implement controls and procedures to ensure the
integrity of the logical security for all computer-based systems across all
technical platforms.
• Develop, review and maintain security policies and standards for
NT/Windows 2000 and Netware.
• Evaluate new projects and applications particularly as they relate to
network security architecture and design.
• Review and analysis of business risks and creation of security
requirements and controls.
• Recommend and implement security product requirements, policy, and
procedure and develop a security roadmap for current and future Intel-based
services and systems.
• Directing the groups responsible for managing the systems to correct
security vulnerabilities and bring systems into compliance with the standards.
• Improve awareness of existing and new security vulnerabilities.
• Act as liaison between security and the user community and the system
administration staff.
• Creates security project plans and documentation.
• Assist in troubleshooting security related problems.
• Analyze security violation reports for suspicious activities and
patterns.
• Respond and assist in the security audit process.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Four years minimum experience, including two years overseeing security of a
large NT network. Must be a self-starter with initiative and drive to research
out new security technologies and vulnerabilities.
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and related
applications particularly IIS.
• Good working knowledge of Novel and Unix Operating Systems and related
applications.
• Experience with deploying and securing Microsoft-based Internet
applications.
• Understanding of OS issues, including NT, Windows 2000, and Enterprise
Security Management products.
• Strong understanding of multiple networking protocols (TCP/IP, NetBIOS
etc..) and networking concepts.
• Experience with identifying, evaluating and resolving security related
OS, network and application issues.
• NT and Unix scripting skills.
• Solid analytical skills to troubleshoot high-level, complex, technical
problems.
• Knowledge of network and host security assessment tools and internal
auditing processes.
• Interpersonal and relationship management skills – how to
interface to technical administrators, senior IT and Business Management.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Proven ability of multi-tasking such as directing projects and
performing day-to-day administrative tasks and troubleshooting.
• Ability to lead smaller projects with limited supervision.
• College degree and MCSE preferred. Any of the following security
certifications CISSP, CISA, CNA, CNE are considered a plus.
