The Chief Security Officer (CSO) will provide the future security vision for 
the company and will co-create the technical strategy and direction of the 
organization.  The CSO will actively promote increased integration and 
efficiency in operating the security infrastructure while providing greater 
responsiveness to internal and external customers. In this position, the CSO 
will provide strong leadership for a team of world class security experts in 
networking, security, systems engineering and other areas.  Working with the 
team, the CSO will help plan the development of new, innovative customer 
security technologies and drive both short and long term security planning and 
its impact on the business. This position will build a responsive and strategic 
technical team, applying business and financial acumen while developing and 
communicating a security strategy.  Provide day-to-day management of corporate 
wide security infrastructure, ensuring that projects are done on time and
  within budget parameters with measurements of impact.

The CSO will plan and manage the strategic components of the enterprise 
security services portfolio, providing process and technology direction on a 
wide variety of information security issues, concerns, and problems and 
opportunities. The individual will work closely with the Engineers to ensure IT 
systems and electronic data are protected from internal and external 
unauthorized access, modification, deletion or disclosure in compliance with 
Company policies and standards and security best practices. Delivers on process 
and technology controls governing incident handling, security architecture 
planning, policy development, service level management, process framework 
definition, security program direction, strategic project coordination, and 
undertakes operational/tactical level security process and engineering work as 
required to support the other members of the enterprise security team.

The CSO will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining worthwhile 
and lasting relationships with current customers and identifying new client 
opportunities.  Individual must be able to identify needs in customer’s 
organization and devise mutually beneficial solutions, employing 
solution-selling techniques to identify business needs, developing customized 
solutions, and measuring ROI to solve client business problems.  Responsible 
for managing, monitoring and reporting on all assigned business development 
activities, specifically the advancement of prospects through the sales cycle.  
Develop and presenting proposals that clearly convey business needs, project 
approach, relevant experience and client benefits.  Participate in contract 
negotiations and coordinates execution of contracts.  Understand competitors' 
strengths and weaknesses and effectively articulating Company's competitive 
advantage. Demonstrate effective negotiation and closing techniques in securi
 ng profitable business.  Represent the company at industry trade shows.  
Provide input into development of marketing literature and boilerplate.  

Finally, in coordination with the Education Sales Account Executive, the CSO 
will design and lead training on security related products.  Participate in the 
testing of upgrades and new tools as part of the training design and rollout 
process.  Plan, institute, and oversee new security training programs.  Develop 
strategies and recommend solutions to recurring security training problems.  
Write, update, and review user documentation.  Coordinate, manage, and act as 
liaison for corporate projects and initiatives requiring independent decision 
making, including assigning project tasks and directing responsibilities of 
team members.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

TECHNICAL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:  
Languages: LDAP, SQL, XML, JSP, Java script, Perl script
Software: Tivoli Access Manager, Netegrity IdentityMinder/CA Etrust
Databases: SQL, DB2
Operating Systems: Windows (NT, 2000, XP), Solaris, Linux. AIX
Education:  CISSP, CISA, CPP, MCP/MCSE, and SAN certifications a plus. 
Bachelor’s Degree in related field required  Master’s Degree 
preferred.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
* 10+ years experience in IT leadership positions, preferably in complex, 
technologically-driven organizations.
* Must have in depth experience in managing a complex security infrastructure 
and helping set a security direction for small, mid-size and large, complex 
organizations. 
* Must have proven experience working across multiple functions of an 
organization and enabling technology. 
* Past experience in diagnosing, analyzing, designing, implementing and 
evaluating successful large-scale security solutions with measurable results 
within a large organization
* Strong understanding of IT Security and Technology as a whole.
* Understand how technology can impact business models and drivers.
* Experience in technology strategy, analysis and planning in a complex 
environment, and evaluating and recommending products/services which ensure 
alignment with overall corporate strategy.
