Position: VP / Dir / Mgr engineering
Location: San Jose, California, US
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 03/27/2005
Report to Director of appliance software engineering and play a key role in
appliance software architecture design. Provide the vision, guidance and advise
in appliance security protocol and framework design and implementation.
Distinguishing Characteristics:
The position must take a strategic, proactive, and leadership role in
developing products on time with quality. It is essential that this person can
leverage external technologies such as open source software or other vendors'
product to define and develop the cost effective solutions for WGRD.
From a personal standpoint, this person needs to be a bright, fair,
persistent, and sensitive individual with intellect, high energy, and drive to
work with other team members in a highly competitive and fast-paced
environment. This person will be an analytical thinker with strong tactical
skills, and a focus on results while instilling a standard of excellence in
all aspects of the business. Candidates must be an open communicator, have
high level of integrity and a strong sense of responsibility in accomplishing
the organization’s goals.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education, Knowledge, Skills, Certifications/ Licenses, Competencies:
- MS/Ph.D. in EE/CS. Knowledge in various IP TCP, IPSec, PKI, VPN, Wireless,
H.323, SIP based protocols and applications is preferred.
- Strong technical background with business sense in networking, security and
software development.
- Strong managerial capability to develop, manage and complete multiple
software releases on time with quality and within budget
Minimum Experience Level:
- 12 years of software development experience in network communication
industry.
- Experience must include: TCP/IP applications, IPv6, Mobile IP, IP routing
protocols and various VPN tunneling protocols (GRE, PPTP/L2TP and IPSec).
- Familiar with Firewall, NAT, and VPN technologies. Hands-on experience in
Linux/Unix and embedded system is essential.
