Position: Manager, Information Security
Location: San Jose, California, US
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 03/27/2005
This position will define and manage security efforts for one of Silicon
Valley's more noteable companies. The candidate will work closely with the CIO
and senior IT management and must have working knowledge of information
security technology.
Responsibilities:
• Responsible for safeguarding the company’s assets, intellectual
property and computing infrastructure.
• Implements the necessary controls and procedures to cost-effectively
protect information systems assets from intentional or inadvertent
modification, disclosure or destruction.
• Key stakeholder in design reviews across the IT organization regarding
in-house developed applications and software. Additionally provides consulting
engineering services to critical business units in the areas of security
assessments, architecture, and implementations.
• Perform network security design, architecture, and integration. Expert
understanding of access control techniques such as firewalls and VPNs well
versed in the administration of firewall and VPN technologies.
• Responsible for defining, implementing, and management of Security
Architecture including intrusion detection, network security, and host-based
security.
• Defines and implement network and host based security measures,
ensuring compliance across the organization.
• Drives configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of Intrusion
Detection Systems. Ultimately responsible for the security architecture and
resulting infrastructure implementations & improvements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Wide knowledge of computer security architectures and protocols.
Knowledge of 802.1x, Ipsec digital authentication: SecureID hardware- and
software-based firewall architectures: Cisco PIX, Checkpoint wireless LAN
security protocols: WEP, TKIP, AES.
• Must have a solid understanding of information technology and
information security (including firewalls, VPNs, penetration testing, intrusion
detection, host-based security for NT & UNIX compute server environments,
network-based security including firewall architectures and application-based
security measures.
