We have an immediate need at Citrix Systems in Fort Lauderdale, FL, for a 
Director of Software Development.

Position Summary:
The Citrix Products Team is searching for a Director of Software Development at 
the Fort Lauderdale site to build the world's best software products. Drive, 
commitment, and passion with a foundation of technical skills and business 
savvy that inspire others will be key attributes. This role requires a proven 
leader with the technical skills and experience who can lead a development team 
to drive the adoption of a world-class environment for developing products. As 
part of the senior leadership team, this person would play a proactive role in 
tuning company strategy, communication internally and externally and engaging 
the team to build and deliver the products. 

Responsibilities include: 
• Lead and motivate a staff of Development Managers and potentially one or 
more Architects through coaching, mentoring, and performance management 
practices. Set clear, achievable goals and put the necessary metrics and 
milestones in place to monitor and ensure progress. 
• Set the necessary mechanisms in place to evaluate developer talent, 
identify and reward key contributors, and to identify and deal with 
under-performers. Drive training programs and curriculum for developers. 
• Assure the skill levels within the group evolve to match the trends in 
the technology marketplace versus the products we need to build, deliver and 
support. Develop recruiting competencies to ensure that we can hire top notch 
talented people as quickly as possible in all areas. 
• Drive the engineering excellence efforts, consistent process and best 
practices across all the development teams at Citrix 
• Enforce existing or create new processes and procedures necessary to 
build world-class software products. 
• Ownership of the build environment for all Citrix Access Suite products, 
including the source code and insures that only the highest quality work is 
submitted to the code base while a documented history of change management is 
maintained. 
• Understand the technology, market trends and Customer needs and match 
against our product opportunities. Engage in high impact discussions with the 
team in order to communicate and inspire the teams’ creative ideas 
stressing the importance of the development of intellectual property. 
• Support upper management and communicate company policies and procedures 
explaining them in detail. 
• Communicate new ideas and project status up and down through the 
organization.    
  
  


JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
• At least 10 years industry-related experience and demonstrated 
development management skills with experience shipping software products in an 
enterprise environment. 
• Leadership experience and the ability to motivate teams to realize the 
vision of the organization while making tough decisions on priorities with 
customer needs and business judgment appropriately applied. 
• Excellent verbal and written skills are required to interact internally 
and externally. 
• A proven record of delivering localizable shrink-wrapped products 
worldwide. 
• Knowledgeable of the following MS Windows technologies: Win32, GDI, 
device drivers, services, kernel and windows programming techniques. 
• The ideal technical background will consist of software development 
experience managing large, cross-domain teams shipping complex products, 
including client and server side technology and developer tools experience. 
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent from an 
accredited university. A Master's in Computer Science or Business is a plus.
