Layer 7 Technologies has an ability to be a category leader in the emerging 
market for Web Services infrastructure, security, and integration products. 

The company is seeking a leader who can work with a tier one team to develop 
tier one customer accounts in the Global 1000. We are seeking a top performer 
with proven skills, a well developed contact network and leadership 
capabilities which will allow us to build a significant footprint in a 
territory from the ground up. The sales executive we are seeking has an in 
depth understanding of the components of a complex technical environment in 
today's evolving enterprise. Experience selling identity management, 
middleware, infrastructure, or enterprise application integration products is 
an asset. Additionally, this individual must have a rounded understanding of 
the key business operations which drive the customer success and customer 
decisions. A detailed understanding of the financial drivers of our customers 
coupled with outstanding sales track record and strong technical ability will 
allow this individual to exceed sales targets and achieve excellence at the 
front lines of 
 our business. 

Responsibilities: 
* Successfully access a proven contact network at the C level of Global 1000 
companies. 
* Meet aggressive sales targets in order to make company a category leader in 
the Web Services Security and Infrastructure market. 
* Ability to solve typical account access and selling problems faced by an 
early stage company selling to mature companies. 
* Articulate the technical and business proposition that our technology offers 
end user customers. 
* Effective manager of resources of the broader selling team 
* Work directly with the executive of Layer 7 Technologies in executing and 
forming strategy in an effort to become a world leading company. 
* Develop and maintain trusted relationships with clients based on successful 
selling and honest exchange of information with the clients and prospects. 
* Assume the business face of the company in the market 
* Effectively position and sell large software licensing deals. Must have 
experience selling multiple million dollar transactions. 
* Accept the benefits and pressure of operating on quarterly quota objectives. 
* Willing to invest the energy and discipline of using company sales 
methodology and customer relationship management system. 


 



JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
QUALIFICATIONS: 
* 10+ years demonstrated successful track record of direct sales of enterprise 
solutions to Fortune 1000 accounts at an executive level. 
* Deep contacts and a strong Rolodex are required. 
* Experience in sales where deals are $200K or more. 
* Current quota carried should be $1M to $3M. 
* Experience selling enterprise application integration software or middleware 
software is highly desired. 
* A security background is highly desirable. 
* Track record of exceeding quota in challenging times 
* Outstanding presentation skills in both an informal and formal environment. 
* Experience with the benefits and pressure of working for an emerging unproven 
company selling against established competitors. 
* Both large company and start up experience. 
* Detailed awareness of the multiple types of software solutions in the 
application integration, middleware, and application space. 
* Must have a high degree of independence yet work and direct a team of 
co-workers during sales cycle. 
* C Level comfort and effectiveness 
* Education: Bachelor's Degree. 
* Travel Required
