We have an immediate need in Fort Lauderdale, FL, for a Product Planning & 
Strategy Senior Product Manager.

Position Summary
The Sr. Product Manager for the product strategy group is responsible for new 
product business planning and liaising with other product management groups on 
their respective business plans.  The candidate must understand the product 
release and business planning process with a good background in product 
management.  A good understanding of cross-functional business areas and routes 
to market is also an important qualification for this position in working with 
multiple disciplines involved in the execution of new product introductions 
(e.g., channels, marketing, training, etc.).

Participation in the creation of new product planning and strategy requires 
proper understanding of market conditions and customer needs. Optimal 
candidates have prior working experience with the creation of primary research 
projects used to qualify customer interests and priorities.  The position also 
requires an ability to effectively harvest secondary research from analysts or 
other sources on industry trends and competition.  The candidate must be able 
to collect and synthesize research information collected through these 
investigations and clearly communicate conclusions to others for subsequent use 
in business plan creation.

Must have proficiency in existing Citrix products, web technology, the general 
security space and IT industry expertise are all considered important areas of 
background for this position.

The Product Manager is the driving force behind the inception, planning, 
development and delivery of new products to market. The Product manager works 
independently and as a team member to develop, document, verify and implement 
strategic and product decisions. Manage the complete life cycle of definition, 
introduction and sales life specific product/program areas to ensure 
satisfactory performance throughout. Specifically tasked to ensure content of 
assigned product programs meet worldwide or specially targeted customer 
requirements. The resulting products provide beneficial and profitable 
competitive advantage for Citrix. 

The Product Manager position is a key strategic position within Citrix. Product 
Managers must develop a careful balance of future vision, near term 
opportunities, customer requirements, business savvy and management of 
day-to-day product issues. The ability to identify the questions as well as the 
answers is critical. The customer set varies from R&D to other marketing 
functions, executives, channel, end users and business partners. The web 
products business unit is looking for an individual that provides an 
entrepreneurial focus on helping to lead the company into a new technology and 
product direction. The product management function requires an important 
balance between business and technology thought leadership to help guide the 
company. The position is very dynamic and the individual must be comfortable 
with frequent multi-tasking between technical, business, strategic, marketing 
and planning activities. 

Essential job functions include: 
•  Product Planning documentation 
•  Proposed Business Plans (PBO) 
•  Product Requirements Document (PRD) 
•  Internal/external roadmaps 
•  Customer and market research 
•  Financial ROI analysis and forecasting 
•  Product feature set priorities and trade-offs 
•  Interface with Citrix Engineering to ensure timely development 
•  Interface with other departments and channels to ensure availability of 
all necessary materials and content for Introduction, training and ongoing 
sales 
•  Manage the product(s) over their entire lifecycle 
•  Analyst briefings 
•  Focal point for managing Citrix relationship with relevant business 
partners. 
•  Contribute to the strategic direction of the company 
•  Identify items needed for product success. This may include: recruit 
internal assistance from other departments and teams  business development with 
outside entities for licensed and embedded items 
•  Participate in executive staff meetings/decisions as necessary 
•  Participate in the development of sales tools, training, demonstration 
programs and sales literature 
•  Customer presentations/demonstrations on-site or at Executive Briefing 
Centers 
•  Travel as necessary to complete assigned duties 
•  Some physical exertion/lifting required for trade shows, moving 
equipment, etc.




JOB REQUIREMENTS

•  5 + years of experience as a Senior Product Manager 
•  Multi-tiered channel sales model 
•  Helpful background in Citrix products & technologies  Web programming 
tools and technology  Portal Solutions  Content or document management  Single 
sign-on security  Team collaboration (synchronous and/or asynchronous)  
Enterprise search engines 
•  Excellent leadership, negotiation & persuasion skills 
•  Strategic vision and translate into an actionable plan 
•  Strong customer orientation 
•  Able to work with R&D to define and make product trade off's 
•  Effective written, verbal and presentation skills 
•  Ability to document ideas in plans, PBO’s and PRD’s 
•  Forecasting, competitive positioning and financial return on investment 
•  Establishes and follows priorities 
•  Manage business relationships with partners 
•  Computer and software proficiency (Windows and/or UNIX applications) 
•  Ability to make decisions independently and/or as part of team 
•  BSCS, MIS BSEE, BS or equivalent required, MBA helpful
