My client, a leading provider of enterprise security configuration management 
software to customers worldwide, is seeking to hire an experienced enterprise 
software presales engineer to provide presales technical assistance to North 
American channel partners.  The position is based in Northern New Jersey.

Primary Job Responsibilities

Support North American channel partners --VAR. OEM, and SI—by engaging in 
a variety of pre-sales activities, including, but not limited to:
-Working with channel partner sales and technical personnel to respond to 
technical inquiries, RFI's, and RFP's from channel partner prospects 
-Helping channel partners create technical sales presentations (PowerPoint) and 
custom product demonstrations for prospects that are delivered via Webex 
sessions or on-site meetings 
-Assisting channel partner presales technicians with proofs of concept and 
product evaluations at customer sites 
-Providing level one technical support for channel partner proofs of concept 
and product evaluations at customer sites
-Providing product training for channel partner technical and sales personnel
-Tracking and documenting all activity in an online CRM system
-Providing technical coverage for channel partners at trade shows and other 
public events

Assist Product Management and Marketing:
-Gathering and documenting requirements from channel partners’ prospects 
and customers
-Reviewing sales and marketing documents for technical accuracy 
-Serving as a technical resource for partner
-centric marketing activities
-Gathering and documenting product bugs and enhancement requests from channel 
partner prospects and customers and entering information into the 
Company’s bug tracking system.

Salary: $90k - $100k base plus bonus & stock options.



JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Qualifications:
•  Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer programming, or the sciences 
preferred, but will consider outstanding candidates who have two year degrees.  
MCP and/or CISSP certification is also desirable. 
•  7-10 years of experience as a field sales engineer for an enterprise 
software company, preferably in the enterprise security market.  A substantial 
portion of the experience should involve working in a presales engineering 
capacity directly with channel partners.   
•  Outstanding presentation, speaking, and writing skills 
•  Hands on experience in configuration management, systems management, 
enterprise IT infrastructure, enterprise security infrastructure or other IT 
technology involving extensive deployment within the enterprise IT environment
•  Knowledge of: Windows  non-Windows platforms--UNIX, Linux, Mac  tools 
such as SMS, Tivoli, TNG, Altiris, Novadigm, Marimba, and Patchlink, etc. 
•  A passion for excellence
•  Willingness to travel extensively within assigned region, and 
nationwide on occasion.
