Position: Developer

Sourcefire, Inc. is looking for a Research Engineer to join our highly talented
Research and Development team in Columbia, Maryland. We are looking for
individuals with extensive experience in Microsoft Windows debugging,
vulnerability research, exploit development, and Intrusion Detection Systems.
Research Engineers will be expected to develop, debug, document, and reverse
engineer exploits as they are discovered in-house or from the field. Other
duties
include Snort rule development and proto-type preprocessor development to
rapidly protect our customers from emerging network threats.
The compensation for this position includes a generous base salary as well as
quarterly bonus based on achieving individual, team and company goals.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Individuals must work well in a team environment, be highly motivated, and
willing to learn new skills. Experience with the fasted paced startups is
highly
desired.
Qualifications:
Technical
* Strong programming skills in C, Microsoft C++, and x86 assembly
* Extensive software reverse-engineering experience
* Extensive experience with IDA Pro, SoftICE, and GDB
* Strong technical writing skills
* Strong network programming background
* Extensive experience with protocol analysis and network traffic
analysis.
* General Unix fundamentals
* General Windows fundamentals
* Experience with Snort a plus
Educational
* College degree in Computer Science or related field.
* 4 to 7 years of experience in C or C++ programming, network
administration, and security.
