Position: Security Engineer
Location: Cupertino, California, US
Type: Permanent F/T

Network Security Researcher
This position will work with Engineering and Professional Services to provide
security content via vulnerability and signature mappings from various vendors
to industry standard categories with the help of vulnerability advisories and
other references.
Position Responsibilities:
Analyze vulnerability databases and signatures of various IDS systems to
classify them into industry standard categories
Create and maintain an intrusion response knowledge base
Formulate intrusion detection signatures mappings to correlate and detect
suspicious activities

JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Required Experience:
3+ years of hands-on experience in Network Management and Network Security
Experience in deploying and managing various intrusion detection systems, such
as, Snort, RealSecure, Tripwire, etc
Experience with Network Management tools, such as, OpenView, Tivoli, etc.
Experience writing Perl and UNIX shell scripts
Experience in creating new IDS signatures to detect specific attacks
Working knowledge of incident response management
Good knowledge of analyzing low level logs to detect suspicious activities
Good knowledge of CVE and Bugtraq databases
Good communication and writing skills
Ability and desire to learn new technologies fast
Detail-oriented
Desired Experience:
Experience in submitting new security vulnerabilities & advisories a plus
Education:
BS in Computer Science or an equivalent degree
Preferred: GIAC GCIA or equivalent
