Position: Security Consultant
Location: Flemington, New Jersey, US
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 02/24/2005
My Client is looking for an Information Security Associate. This position
supports a 24/7/365 security environment and does require the Information
Security Associate to be on-call.
He/she is responsible for supporting the security of confidential information,
assets and intellectual property, which belongs to or is processed by the
company. He/she will assist in the implementation and maintenance of managed
security services including intrusion detection and security monitoring
systems, and will perform analysis of operational threat and vulnerability
data. He/she will provide technical support to incident response teams. He/she
will be required to perform IT security analysis and vulnerability assessment
relating to secure infrastructure, network and application design and
effectively.
Primary activities include, but are not limited to:
Develop understanding of security needs for Company globally.
Develop skills and expertise in information security including threat and
vulnerability assessment.
Assist in the deployment and operation of security management software and
hardware devices including, but not limited to: antivirus defense, intrusion
detection/prevention, network scanning, vulnerability assessment, etc.
Perform assessment of operational security data in conjunction with managed
security service providers.
Provide technical support for the security incident response team and apply
forensic investigation techniques to document root cause and impact of detected
computer security incidents.
Perform information security assessments or audits of internal networks and
systems.
Research and track vulnerabilities.
Conduct penetration studies and perform vulnerability assessments.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Candidate must demonstrate strong team work and technical troubleshooting
skills. Must demonstrate excellent communication skills including the ability
to solve problems. Knowledge or experience to diverse technical platforms
including Windows, Unix/Linux, Oracle, TCP/IP, Internet /Intranet, and WAN
connectivity preferred. Working knowledge of networks, firewalls, scanning
tools, host and network-based intrusion detection tools is desirable.
Information Systems experience is desired.
Education: BS in Computer Science or related degree.
