DIRECTOR OF NORTH AMERICAN COMMERCIAL SALES  

Location:  New York, New Jersey, Boston preferred, will consider San Francisco, 
other major metropolitan cities.

THE JOB
We have an immediate opening for a versatile professional, with Security 
Networking and/or Network products industry background, who is experienced in 
managing sales staff and driving revenue.  

Reporting to the VP of Sales, the Director of North American Commercial Sales 
will be responsible for overseeing sales of enterprise-wide security products 
to Global 2000 accounts in the U.S.

Specifically, 
•  Provide tools to, lead, motivate, direct, train and mentor the sales 
staff
•  Strategic planning in conjunction with executive leadership
•  Ensure all territories sales targets are met
•  Design and implement sales strategies in conjunction with marketing 
plan.
•  Network and maintain relationships with accounts and within the 
industry 
•  Communicate customer issues and needs to sales management for 
resolution.
•  Up to 50% travel required

This is a "no-excuses" position -- delivering results is the only 
measure of success.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
•  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Advanced 
degree in a technical or business field is preferred.
•  7-10 years experience in software/hardware sales, preferably with 
network security products.
•  Strong leadership, motivational and managerial abilities with proven 
success in building a strong team.  At least 3 years managing 10-15 field 
personnel.
•  Experience selling networking products to C-level executives in Global 
2000 accounts.
•  Experience working with sales teams and customers in enterprise 
environments.
•  Experience with and the ability to demonstrate consultative solutions 
selling.
•  Strong business, communications and information technology knowledge. 
•  Exceptional organizational and communications capabilities (i.e. must 
be able to listen and understand, then communicate orally and in written 
format). 
•  Ability to quickly learn and apply technical knowledge relating to 
company and competitor’s offerings.  
•  Experience using TAS and Salesforce.com highly desirable.
•  Ability to excel in a fast-paced, fast-growth environment where action 
and initiative are prerequisites to performing well
•  Must be tenacious and success-oriented, a self-starter with high energy.
•  Ability to travel up to 50%.
