Position: Security System Administrator
Location: Redmond, Washington, US

Malicious code and hackers are impacting customers both in corporate and in
consumer segments. Solving this problem is the highest priority request
customers have for Microsoft. If you are interested in preventing Worms and
Viruses from affecting Windows this is the group for you. The Mako product is
the next generation of Intelligent Prevention of Malicious Attacks. The
Security and Technology Business Unit is looking for a Lab Network Engineer to
help us drive our success through designing and maintaining our ever changing
network needs. Government clearance is not required but would be a plus. This
position will give architectural support for an operations environment that
reliably deliver builds, test execution, and customer security incident
response for a key isolation and resiliency initiative in the next version of
Windows Client and Server. The Lab Engineer must exhibit superior
troubleshooting skills across a broad range of products and software including
but not
limited to large servers, SAN based storage units, PC's and all peripherals,
laptops, Imaging solutions and solid cabling skills. This position requires a
deep knowledge of networking technologies like Routing and switching, BGP, Load
balancing, Resilient network design, High availability design, etc.
Understanding of IPv6, multicast, MPLS and its impact on network is required
for planning of these services into our network. The ability to create
simulated network environments in limited amounts of time is a must. Moving and
lifting of hardware and the ability to be on call 24x7 may be required.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

A BS in Computer Science or related technical discipline, and server side
development experience are highly preferred. The ideal candidate should have at
least 3-5 years experience in Networking, analytical and problem solving
skills, as well as good communication skills. Working knowledge of the Entire
Windows OS family 32, 64, SQL and IIS is a must. Experience with cross-platform
development environments, server-side distributed systems and large scale
production environments is a plus. You must be capable of working independently
and cooperatively, and innovating in a highly dynamic environment.
