Do you enjoy probing and analyzing product security, finding holes in 
assumptions or mental sparring with product security measures? Do you want to 
make the world a safer place? Are you interested in a fast-paced job full of 
new opportunities? If so, the . The Security Business Unit's Secure Windows 
Initiative (SWI) team needs you. SWI is committed to making Microsoft’s 
products more secure by working with feature and component teams in Windows as 
well as other teams across Microsoft to ensure that products and features are 
built as securely as possible. We need an energetic Security Development Lead 
to drive a team that analyzes and exploits weaknesses in default installs, tear 
apart how products interact, and build custom tools to make this analysis and 
white-hat monitoring easier. Your team will engage 6-9 product teams a year and 
have full reign to achieve their goals - ensuring Microsoft produces the most 
secure software possible. You'll work with teams to understan
 d their attack surface and how design choices they make affect the security 
stance of their product. It's an exciting job, and at the end of the day, 
you’ll be able to say, "I helped save the world". 

This position includes responsibility for leading a small team of Security 
Engineers (penetration testers). You should have experience in setting goals, 
monitoring progress, and basic HR administration. You should be comfortable 
managing in a fast-paced and dynamic environment where problem arise fast and 
the group has to respond quickly.


JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Candidates must have knowledge of Windows architecture and an ability to devise 
techniques to tear security holes in products. Candidates must be sharp, must 
be solid coders, and must be fluent in C/C++  knowledge of common 
hacking/network tools, Perl, networking, cryptography, assembler is a plus. 
Security-mindedness is mandatory. Must have strong attention to detail and be 
able to effectively work across teams. Demonstrated management skills are 
important. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is preferred
