Position:       Security Engineer

Assist Data Security Manager with installation, configuration and maintenance 
of UNIX and Windows-based workstations and servers security as needed for 
Business Affairs department. Oversee monitoring of Business Affairs security 
implementations and provide consulting as needed to Business Affairs System 
Administrators for all security requirements regarding network configuration, 
monitoring, tools, security breach investigations, etc.

Serve as primary departmental security monitor for all Business Affairs 
departments.

Perform security systems analysis, security systems hardware / software 
configuration and maintenance, security systems program installation, security 
systems administration, peripheral device installation and maintenance, and 
troubleshooting for Windows, Linux, HPUX, AIX, Mac OS, and IBM platforms for 
all Business Affairs departments. Analyze, specify, design and execute software 
to address a variety of security problems and tasks. Includes work with 
complex, advanced security systems and networks in an administrative business 
computing environment and assistance to users on a wide range of technical 
challenges. Requires varied hours with potential on-call scheduling.


JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
* Systems security experience including scanning, hardening and configuring 
systems (Windows, Solaris, Linux).
* Knowledge of operating system internals, communication (and networking) 
protocols (TCP/IP, AFP, NFS, HTTP, FTP), and system utilities.
* Ability to develop web reporting applications using Java / JSP technologies 
to consolidate information from independent security tools.
* Understanding of SQL Databases (Sybase, Oracle, MS SQL Server, DB2, MySQL).
* Hardware and software firewall experience (Cisco, Kerio, IPFW, IPTables, Sun 
Screen).
* Demonstrated analytic, inductive and deductive reasoning skills associated 
with networks and/or network-associated hardware or software.
* Ability to work as part of a team and to collaborate with colleagues.
