Position: Chief Security Strategist
Location: Austin, Texas, US
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 02/19/2005
This position involves serving as the lead technical strategist for Security
products/services. The security technologist will have a strong understanding
of key security concepts: encryption, PKI systems, firewalls, tamper resistant
software, anti-virus technology, biometrics, & TPM's. Responsibilities include
the assimilation and understanding of the technology environment and the
derivation of a technology/product strategy from this information. Duties
include leading investigations, performing strategic analysis, and developing
recommendations, which will influence the technical product strategy. The
technologist must engage engineering, marketing, and suppliers to meet Dell's
requirement of product leadership for the technology area. The technologist
must be versed in PC architecture and PC operating systems. BS in EE/CS or
comparable relevant work experience in lieu of education is required. MS in
EE/CS Preferred. BS: Preferred 10+ years relevant work experience. MS: Pr
eferred 7+ years relevant work experience. A Technologist will perform the
following duties: Develop strategies based on the technical and business
information. Develop vendor relationships for the technologies and act as point
of contact for Dell's requirements and driving those requirements into future
vendor designs. Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of technology and
vendor roadmaps. Provide technical information and recommendations by
participating in technical forums and meetings.
