Position: Technical Writer
Location: Redwood City, California, US
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 01/26/2005
The Marketing Writer is responsible for taking a leadership role in
communications projects for the marketing department. Projects include
developing, writing, and editing a variety of print marketing collateral
including data sheets, flyers, white papers, product brochures, and inserts
working closely with Check Point’s Design team to ensure the consistency
of our brand, tone, and message. In addition, this person will provide support
for writing projects driven by other departments such as Finance, HR, and
Operations.
The following key functions are part of the job duties:
- Research topics as necessary.
- Author marketing and sales communications, including sell sheets, brochures,
white papers, letters, etc.
- Author website text copy.
- Follow chosen Company Style Guidelines (design, style, branding) and ensure a
consistent message throughout all documentation.
- Know your audience and products.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Experience & Skills Requirements:
- Minimum five (5) years experience in collateral writing for a technical
company
- A passion for superior copywriting
- Experience in creating a range of industry-related collateral
- Experience in working with outside vendors
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to initiate and follow-through
- Strong project management skills
- Demonstrated attention to detail
- Willingness to use all resources available to become expert in our products
and services
- Self-motivation and the ability to work independently
- Windows platform experience.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor of Arts in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, Technical
Writing, or related field.
