MANAGER, INFORMATION SECURITY ADMINISTRATION
Summary - Ensures the security of electronic company information. Establishes
security systems to prevent hackers from infiltrating company information or
jeopardizing e-commerce programs. Establishes appropriate firewall standards
and criteria. Designs and implements security policies to control access to
systems. Develops and implement standards for appropriate security checkpoints
and encryption methods. Assesses the impact on the business caused by theft,
destruction, alteration, or denial of access to information.
Scope - Establishes operational objectives and assignments, and delegates
assignments to subordinate managers. Objectives are reviewed by senior
management to determine success of operation. Involved in developing,
modifying, and executing company policies which affect immediate operation(s)
and may also have company-wide effect. Erroneous decisions will result in
critical delay(s) in schedules and/or unit operations and may jeopardize
overall business activities. Regularly interacts with senior management or
executive levels on matters concerning several functional areas, divisions
and/or customers. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain
acceptance of, others in sensitive situations. Manages activities of two or
more sections or departments through subordinate managers who exercise full
supervision in terms of costs, methods, and employees. In some instances this
manager may be responsible for managing staff function and may not have
subordinate managers.
Business Experience-6+ years information security experience including 5+ years
managerial experience
Education-4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent
experience
Knowledge Skills-Thorough knowledge of firewall standards and the design and
implementation of security policies to control access to systems
Essential Functions:
Act as a team lead and manager for the Information Security Administration
(ISA) team. This team performs identity and access control management for
McKesson technology resources. These systems include:
• A variety of Unix platforms (Solaris, HP/UX, Linux, AIX)
• Multiple Windows environments
• Mainframes with multiple LPARs
• AS/400 systems
• 100+ Applications
Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyze existing and build new security administration processes that comply
with enterprise security policies, reflect leading industry practice, and
leverage enterprise technologies such as Corporate LDAP directories and MS
Active Directory.
2. Manage a team of security administrators with a diverse array of technical
specialties.
3. Provide technical and subject matter leadership to the ISA team.
4. Identify and execute on opportunities for automation of administrative
functions.
5. Perform risk analysis, balance risk against business requirements, and
analyze one-off security situations to determine the appropriate actions or
process changes.
6. Represent ISA in enterprise efforts to integrate systems and build a common
foundation set of technologies for authentication, authorization, identity
management, etc.
7. Re-design ISA functions to include more proactive security management and
reporting.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Job Qualifications:
Education/Training –
• Minimum BA degree in relevant field. Formal focus on information
security is preferred.
• CISA and CISSP certifications preferred.
Business Experience –
• Minimum 6 years of relevant information security or systems management
expertise.
• Be able to manage budgets, perform cost-benefit analysis, and track
performance.
OTHER DESIRABLE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Broad technical experience and knowledge of a variety of OS platforms and
software packages is preferred.
Knowledge of technical security issues to aid in risk analysis and decision
making.
Must be able to communicate technical issues to non-technical coworkers.
Ability to manage diverse security administration team.
Must know at least one major scripting language.
