Position:       Security Product Manager
Location:       Santa Clara, California, US
Type:           Permanent F/T
Closing Date:   01/13/2005

The "Strategic Marketing" or "Strategic Initiatives" 
director will:
Set the company's direction in his / her respective area (working with their VP 
and the Exec team)
Maintain a Market Requirement Document (MRD), a Go-To-Market Plan, and a 
Partner Plan 
Drive the long-term technology direction by participating in (or tracking) 
appropriate standards bodies and working with the Extreme engineering lead for 
that area
Drive the required product features by working with the product managers
Drive the Go-To-Market plan (for awareness, events, etc) by working with the 
marketing team
Drive the partnership plan by working with the business development manager and 
channel manager (in case the partner is a channel partner)
Develop compelling collateral that highlight our advantages and that teach the 
sales team how to sell our solutions in that area
Evangelize our solution / expertise in the area by working with the sales team 
and customers - through in person presentations at executive briefings and 
through (above mentioned) collateral 
Responsible for achieving agreed upon metrics such as revenue, market share, 
mind share and reporting plan and achievements against plan to the Exec Team 
(and occasionally the Board) as required.

   



JOB REQUIREMENTS

Solid technology background in Security (Ipsec, Kerberos, crypto)  background 
in taking products to market, evangelizing solutions, etc.
