Position: Security Engineer
Location: Washington, District of Columbia, US
Type: Permanent F/T
Closing Date: 01/01/2005
Zen Technology has an immediate need for a security engineer specializing in
the implementation of Checkpoint Firewall-1. Checkpoint certification is
desired, but not required. 3-5 years of demonstratable Checkpoint experience
is required.
The initial requirement is the implementation of a high availability Checkpoint
Firewall-1 solution on Solaris to replace a legacy Gauntlet firewall. The
engineer will be assisted by a full time technical writer to insure full
documentation of the environment and the implemented systems. After the
initial project, the candidate will continue to work with the initial customer
and other Zen Technology projects. US citizenship is required and relocation
is not available.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Strong security experience, specifically in firewall technology. Must have
expert knowledge of Checkpoint firewalls, Sun hardware, software, and
maintenance requirements. Thorough knowledge of security design features and
able to perform sound independent analysis of network and systems security
design and implementation of such designs. In depth knowledge of firewall
technologies including configuration and rule set creation. Hands-on
experience using Cisco and other networking products, including communications
and routing equipment. Knowledge in network vulnerabilities including common
probing and attack methods, network/service discovery, and system auditing.
Understanding of security encryption and authentication technologies.
