Position: Director, Information Security
Location: Austin, Texas, US
Type: Permanent F/T

Provide University-wide leadership on all aspects of information and systems
security. Direct a technical staff in architecting, implementing and operating
a security program. Participate in security-related policy development,
communications and enforcement. Manage the University's response to security
threats and incidents. Represent the University on inter-university and
inter-organizational programs and projects.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Electrical Engineering,
Management Information Sciences or comparable discipline. Five years experience
in systems or network security demonstrating increasing responsibility for
policy development and management. Equivalent combination of relevant education
and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
PREFERRED: Masters degree in Information Science or related discipline. Five
years in a large university IT organization with accountability for system
security. Demonstrated management of people and fiscal resources. Highly
developed interpersonal skills in the area of communications and team-based
management organizations. Understanding of all aspects of IT security in
networks, central and distributed systems, end-user computing, etc.
