Position: Security Engineer
Location: Atlanta, Georgia, US
Type: Permanent P/T
Closing Date: 01/09/2005
This is a Systems Engineering position, reporting to the Director of Systems
Engineering. This position is 40%-60% pre to post sales. There will be 30-50%
regional travel. My client would like the individuals to be located in or very
near Atlanta, GA.
They will set up a lab right in their home to work from. The salary is based
on past salary history and experience. There is a 20% bonus on top of the
salary as well as stock option benefits, car allowance, and attractive &
competitive benefits program.
Qualifications:
* 2-5 plus years technical sales support and post-sales implementation support.
* 4 year degree in engineering or computer sciences, or equivalent work
experience.
* In-depth knowledge of the OSI model layers 2 – 7.
* Demonstrated proficiency at system integration
* The ability to interpret packet captures and diagnose underlying problems
* Experience with Load balancers, Firewalls, Web Servers, and Caching a PLUS.
* Understanding of bandwidth management and quality of services concepts.
* The ability to troubleshoot complex network environments.
* Good presentation, speaking and negotiation skills.
* VPN, SSL and encryption related concepts
* SNMP version 1,2 & 3 and the ability to read mibs
* Excellent work ethic and desire to exceed.
* Independent and self-motivated
Security qualifications:
Firewalls
* Create and modify complex rule sets
* The ability to identify and eliminate threats and vulnerabilities
* Knowledge in Cryptology (SSL, TLS, VPN, and IPSec)
* In depth knowledge of firewall architecture
* Familiarity of Security Models and architectures
IDS/IPS
* Thorough knowledge of OSI model and identifying fields in the IP stack
* Experienced creating and modifying signatures
* Experience with one of the following vendors products ISS, TruSecure, Tipping
Point, Enterasys
* Familiarity with hacking tools and techniques
Routers and Switches
* Creating advanced access control lists
* Understanding network protocols
* Knowledge of Network Topologies
* Familiarity with Routing Protocols
Network security related concepts and threat analysis
Applicable certifications – CISSP, SANS T1, T2, T3, T4 and T8
