Job Title: Security Engineer- BGP and OSPF routing
Salary:   $ 80-100k plus 5-10% bonus, plus options
Reports to: Chief Technology Officer

Job Overview:
Responsible for all aspects of network and systems security for our 
Client’s network and hosting infrastructure. 

Job Description:        
§  Responsible for design and implementation of security infrastructure in 
both customer solutions and the corporate network. Perform risk assessments and 
vulnerability analyses on solutions. Evaluate and recommend security 
technologies.  Craft security policies and procedures.
§  Perform firewall configuration installations, changes, and system 
upgrades. Evaluate and recommend firewall technologies. Understand network 
applications and convert customer requirements into effective firewall policy.
§   Perform configuration changes and diagnose failures in local network 
and wide-area network environments, including BGP and OSPF routing, VRRP 
routing redundancy, spanning-tree Ethernet redundancy, and Ethernet switches.  
Familiar with Alcatel, Cisco, Foundry, and Juniper network equipment.
§  Design, build, deploy, and monitor network and host-based intrusion 
detection technologies.  Craft custom IDS rulesets to detect new attacks. 
Investigate IDS reports and follow incidents to resolution. Provide warnings to 
operations staff and customers of new attack trends.
§  Work with customer and external sources to resolve security incidents 
within our facility.  Take detailed case notes and perform thorough forensic 
analysis of compromised systems, taking into account legal procedures such as 
chain-of-custody, in order to collect sufficient evidence for prosecution of 
intruders.
§  Perform external security assessments on corporate and customer 
solutions with the intent of discovering vulnerabilities and gaining access to 
systems.  







JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Requirements:

§  Five years of UNIX administration experience with Linux, BSD, Solaris, 
HP-UX, Digital UNIX, IARIX, and AIX.   
§  Intimate knowledge of TCPIP/IP networking in LAN and WAN environments 
including OSPF, BGP4, VRRP, and spanning-tree.  Media layer knowledge of 
Ethernet, 802.11b wireless, 802.1q VLANs.  Firewalling with NetScreen, 
IPFilter, Juniper, Cisco, TIS Firewall Toolkit.  Experience with software and 
hardware based Ipsec and GRE based VPNs.
§  Proficient in Perl, awk, Expect, UNIX shell scripts.
§  Familiarity with a number of technologies including: Kerberos, ssh, 
PGP, SecurID, tcpdump, ethereal, Snort, Network Flight Recorder, SHADOW, 
Tripwire, Veracity, EnCase, and TCT.
