Position: Sr. Security Engineer
Location: Bay Area, California, US

Senior Systems Programmer
Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership and hands-on contribution in running the service
production environment, with specific emphasis on the production database
systems.
Contribute to the ongoing development of the product architecture.
Lead the development of operational process documentation.
Lead the development of operational tools.
Plan and lead the high-risk, database-related, maintenance operations.
Build, administer and maintain servers, networks, and services, for the
production of our product.
Provide 2nd-tier on-call and scheduled support for the our product, including
problem diagnosis and resolution.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
---------------------------------------------------
Perl for systems administration: database, mail, http, and other tcp/ip
interfaces.
Expertise in planning and documenting major operations activities.
5+ years in an internet service provider operations environment, contributing
directly to operational process and tools development.
Must be able to build a UNIX network, with domain name services, mail services
(sendmail), web services (Apache), database services (MySql, Oracle), file
services (Samba), security services (SSH, iptables).
Expertise in internet mail systems and protocols.
In-depth knowledge of Linux systems is required (RedHat, installation kickstart
construction).
Must be able to specify the appropriate hardware for a given application, and
be able to configure and deploy the specified system hardware and software.
Must be able to maintain production servers (firmware and hardware upgrades and
diagnosis/repair).
In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP networking design and administration is required,
as is experience with Cisco switches and routers.
Ability to diagnose and correct operating system level issues and to perform
kernel-level performance tuning, specifically with respect to database
performance and disk I/O.
Desired skills
MySql, Oracle, and SQL programming.
Cisco IOS.
Oracle DBA experience.
Experience with spam prevention.
BS in computer science or related field.
